This was my first time to Ageless Yoga, and I'm a fan. This is a topnotch studio with great energy. I liked the aroma

therapy a lot. I'm 55, and although I have many years of past yoga experience, I haven't been to a yoga class in over a

year. It was a challenge to make myself get started again, but I'm so glad I did. I came away from this evenings Yin class

feeling great. My muscles feel lengthened and strengthened and I have no worries about a stressed back or sciatica

twinges. I'm relaxed and happy. Kitty is a pro, and kept the class challenged while she kept an eye on me, offering props

and listening to me to make sure I had options that my tight muscles could handle. I think I'll give her Intro to Hot Yoga

class a try for some deep relief from old sport and work related injuries.

A few months ago, I started looking for a yoga studio that catered to Military Veterans. I am a Former Marine that has a lot of lower back, knee and neck pain do to my time in the Corps. I contacted Kitty and she told me about Connected Warriors, a free program for veterans that she has implemented at Ageless Yoga. I had never tried yoga before but I have always heard great things about it. At our first few classes, it was just the two of us. She took the time to get to know me as a person and what ails me. Kitty showed me how to do the various poses and gently corrected them as needed. Patience is a strong attribute of her that I observed during those first few class together. She provides all the equipment that is needed. The class is held on Sunday's from 1:30-2:30. I look forward to seeing new faces as well as old. Thank you Kitty and Semper Fi.

I've wondered about yoga for a while, but could never find a class that started as basically as "This is a yoga mat." Then I saw the absolute Beginning Yoga classes offered at Ageless Studios. The price was right and included a mat and eye pillow. I also worried about those stories of friends who were injured at a yoga class, but Kitty paid close attention to my form so that worry was reduced.

Each class built on the last and by the end of six weeks, I had a grasp of what this Yoga thing is all about. Kitty stresses that Yoga is my own personal journey and the pose, the strength, the flexibility is about what _I_ can do. I am 66 years old. I do run and cross train but I'm hardly an athlete. Grace and flexibility? Ha! But at the end of each session, I feel relaxed and strong.

Kitty makes each class feel like she planned it just for me. The studio is clean and serene. And the best part is that I begin each class knowing that when I leave I will feel better than I have since I left the last class.

Kitty understands coming back from serious injuries, and the painstaking process involved in learning yoga...this is not a short learning curve with instant results; it IS a process that will benefit your life, if you are patient and committed. Kitty's encouragement is the true star here, and I know that I wouldn't have lasted the new member month if I hadn't talked with her first, because here's the thing: I heard about this studio from a friend who knows I ride horses and told me that there is a class for equestrians at Ageless Yoga on Tuesday nights. I was very excited about this class, and was ready to sign up. Kitty evaluated my level of strength and suggested that I hold off on the equestrian class until my strength improves by attending a more fundamental class. I'm so glad I listened, because I would have been out of my depth and quickly discouraged if I had jumped right in to the equestrian class. Now, my goal is not just to attend that class, but to know enough and have enough strength to be able to get something out of it, and not just keep up. I'm almost through with my new member month, and I will keep coming back because I'm already experiencing some terrific benefits from my practice. Namaste :-)

A message from the owner... What led me to teach Yoga is what I learned about how I was taking care of myself. I have had many situations in my life which have caused severe stress and I thought that the stress wasn't affecting me. It was Yoga that made me realize that it was affecting me more than I thought and the deterioration of the state of my health. When my daughter passed away from cancer, depression took over my life. I needed to find a method of dealing with depression and long standing issues of anxiety that was different from traditional medicine. Not only did I have stress pile up, now I had to deal with depression, anxiety, and insomnia. I had practiced years before but life took me away from my practice. If you could call it that at that time. Yes, I practiced Yoga at a studio...But it wasn't a weekly commitment. Sometimes I would skip weeks..Yeah ok, months! But, this time around after my Dr. suggested I get back into it, my yoga practice and I found that it was helpful in dealing with my depression and anxiety, and a lifelong issue of insomnia as well. I noticed immediately a sense of peace and tranquility. Years back when I did practice, it wasn't the same..I think I was trying too hard and competing with my self and others in the class. Trying to keep up! But I what I did do was push my self to opening old injuries. The biggest of a long standing back issue of disc issues and my Morton's' Neuroma in both feet. So If you think that you can't do yoga! Think again....I had a very bad back problem and still deal with my Morton's Neuroma every day....Effected my balance on many levels...But if I hadn't gotten back to yoga when I did...the outcome would be worse. I am so thankful for my practice of Yoga and it saved my lfe! So getting back to my story here, The very first I noticed, I was able to cope and handle stress so much better. I started to listen to my body and my needs, not what everybody was doing in the class. Even though I was following along with the teacher. I wasn't going off and doing my thing....That's I when I noticed that my strength, flexibility, and concentration were beginning to improve. I was regaining my flexibility that I had in my earlier years. As I continued practicing Yoga again on a consistent weekly bases, I realized I was healing on so many levels with no medications at all. My back issue completely healed. That is when I knew then, at my age I was reversing health issues without meds! I wanted to help others help heal themselves. I became aware of how helpful Yoga is in dealing with certain illnesses. It truly is about the mind, body connection. It changed my life! I hope after reading my story it will change your too! Here are a few examples of the types of classes and why they work. For golfers, core strength, flexibility and balance are required to play consistently. All three diminish over time. As golfers age they lose their flexibly, have back issues, and their balance isn't as dependable. Golfers, just like Yogis, work in 3 planes of motion. There are no programs in Lexington specifically designed to help golfers improve their flexibility, balance, and core strength. Let's talk about our backs!!! Many people experience back care from time to time, whether this pain is severe and chronic or mild and short lived, it often causes misery and curtails everyday activities. The Yoga for Back Care class helps alleviate the symptoms and improve your condition so you can get more enjoyment out of living. Then there is cancer on the rise, I am currently working on my certification with Yoga for Cancer at Kripalu's Center for Yoga & Health with Tari Prinster. This class is the other main reason for opening this Yoga studio. This class is coming from my heart. This class is for the patients, survivors and the caregivers of this disease. Come join me and see what is possible with your life; learn how to breathe, stretch, strengthen, relax, restore, and bring a more peace to your world. No, I am not a thin, young yogi, but a yogi with past injuries, pre-yoga injuries, but I am passionate about helping others dealing with pain, stiffness and other issues in the body and can relate with what going on in your body. Let me guide and assist you with the poses in a safe non-judgmental atmosphere. My goal is when you are on your mat, you feel as if you are on an island, with no one to compete with or push you to do more; being your unique self as it was intended to be, just you and the present moment. Find out how and why, come join me!! This Studio is dedicated to my daughter, Nicole L. Anderson who passed away in 2010 from cancer.

Best yoga studio in Lexington. Teachers are incredible, atmosphere is welcoming, and there's a variety of classes and times so you can switch it up and find exactly what it is you are looking for through yoga. Definitely recommend it!

Kitty,
After a horrible start to a bad Monday. Where my car wouldn't start, a stressful day at work and

countless of other stressors on this day. Missing yoga was the icing on the cake and I felt miserable. Instead of doing what I would have done a few months ago and spreading my vibes to my mom, who's pretty much my go to on everything and drowning my sorrows in a tub of Ben and Jerrys, I decided to do some yoga. While even that scenario wasn't perfect, leaving my mat in my dead car, having a small space to practice in, having a curious cat in my face,I wasn't going to let that stop me. I turned down the lights in my apartment, put lavender oil in my diffuser and found a wonderful calm mediation station on my pandora and started. I went through the whole series, breathing, finding my center, letting go of all the stress and tension. Did countless down dogs and puppy poses. I went through the whole Monday night course. Even practicing my dolphin pose after throughly stretching my shoulders. I could hear your voice guiding me through each breath, into each pose and every transition. It was like I never missed class. I just wanted to thank you for giving me the tools to change my life and being able to practice everyday for many years to come. Yoga and you are truly inspiring. Thank you for helping gain my strength back both physically and internally.
Namaste,

I had my first Beginners Class tonight at Ageless Yoga and absolutely loved it! I can't wait to go back, I really think this is one of the best decisions that I have ever made!

- Chasidi E.

I have started and stopped countless yoga classes over the years...classes that were too crowded, too fast, too hot, and too intimidating (Headstands? Not happening!). I had pretty much decided that yoga wasn't for me...until I attended a class at Ageless Yoga. From the first email communication with Kitty to the class itself, I felt like I had found the perfect place to really practice yoga, for the first time in my life. Kitty took the time to learn about my experiences and my goals for my practice. The classes are small, and Kitty takes the time to walk around and make adjustments in her students' positions. I find her voice to be very soothing, and though I really work up a sweat in the classes I always leave with the feeling that I can look forward to a relaxing night of sleep.

Karen's Thai Yoga is amazing – she has changed my life by helping to restore my physical body from decades of overuse and neglect.  And her healing touch provides a deep relaxation experience that releases negative emotional blockages. We discover something new each time.

Cara genuinely cares for and provides individual attention to each of her students. Her on-going narrative relates each asana to one or more of the five elements. Her classes are just challenging enough for me at this point in my life. She gives me hope that diligence in my practice will bear fruit in the long run.

Kitty, I am so glad I discovered your studio.

This is a wonderful, professional and peaceful place to learn yoga. Shortly after I began I discovered I had a serious medical condition and the diversity of classes allowed me to continue yoga as part of my complete restoration to health. I also did many Reiki sessions with Kitty to enhance my recovery. I am very grateful to this special place, recommend it to anyone of any age, ability and health status.

I've been going to the beginner's classes for a little over 2 weeks now and I'm absolutely in love!!! Kitty is an amazing instructor and has the kindest spirit. I've tried yoga before (via DVD) but it is incomparable to having the peaceful environment at Ageless and an instructor who is caring, attentive & extremely helpful. If you've wanted to try yoga she offers an awesome $30 beginner's pass, for 30 days of unlimited yoga! Go for it, you will NOT be disappointed!
