A message from the owner... What led me to teach Yoga is what I learned about how I was taking care of myself. I have had many situations in my life which have caused severe stress and I thought that the stress wasn't affecting me. It was Yoga that made me realize that it was affecting me more than I thought and the deterioration of the state of my health. When my daughter passed away from cancer, depression took over my life. I needed to find a method of dealing with depression and long standing issues of anxiety that was different from traditional medicine. Not only did I have stress pile up, now I had to deal with depression, anxiety, and insomnia. I had practiced years before but life took me away from my practice. If you could call it that at that time. Yes, I practiced Yoga at a studio...But it wasn't a weekly commitment. Sometimes I would skip weeks..Yeah ok, months! But, this time around after my Dr. suggested I get back into it, my yoga practice and I found that it was helpful in dealing with my depression and anxiety, and a lifelong issue of insomnia as well. I noticed immediately a sense of peace and tranquility. Years back when I did practice, it wasn't the same..I think I was trying too hard and competing with my self and others in the class. Trying to keep up! But I what I did do was push my self to opening old injuries. The biggest of a long standing back issue of disc issues and my Morton's' Neuroma in both feet. So If you think that you can't do yoga! Think again....I had a very bad back problem and still deal with my Morton's Neuroma every day....Effected my balance on many levels...But if I hadn't gotten back to yoga when I did...the outcome would be worse. I am so thankful for my practice of Yoga and it saved my lfe! So getting back to my story here, The very first I noticed, I was able to cope and handle stress so much better. I started to listen to my body and my needs, not what everybody was doing in the class. Even though I was following along with the teacher. I wasn't going off and doing my thing....That's I when I noticed that my strength, flexibility, and concentration were beginning to improve. I was regaining my flexibility that I had in my earlier years. As I continued practicing Yoga again on a consistent weekly bases, I realized I was healing on so many levels with no medications at all. My back issue completely healed. That is when I knew then, at my age I was reversing health issues without meds! I wanted to help others help heal themselves. I became aware of how helpful Yoga is in dealing with certain illnesses. It truly is about the mind, body connection. It changed my life! I hope after reading my story it will change your too! Here are a few examples of the types of classes and why they work. For golfers, core strength, flexibility and balance are required to play consistently. All three diminish over time. As golfers age they lose their flexibly, have back issues, and their balance isn't as dependable. Golfers, just like Yogis, work in 3 planes of motion. There are no programs in Lexington specifically designed to help golfers improve their flexibility, balance, and core strength. Let's talk about our backs!!! Many people experience back care from time to time, whether this pain is severe and chronic or mild and short lived, it often causes misery and curtails everyday activities. The Yoga for Back Care class helps alleviate the symptoms and improve your condition so you can get more enjoyment out of living. Then there is cancer on the rise, I am currently working on my certification with Yoga for Cancer at Kripalu's Center for Yoga & Health with Tari Prinster. This class is the other main reason for opening this Yoga studio. This class is coming from my heart. This class is for the patients, survivors and the caregivers of this disease. Frequently Asked Questions

I want to start practicing at Ageless Yoga but.....I am too _______________ to do yoga? (too busy, shy, nervous, old, stiff, out of shape, overweight, can't do a headstand, have arthritis, I don't look like the person on the cover of Yoga Journal or have never exercised). I can't bend like a pretzel is another thing I hear all the time. 

  • If you have a desire to learn about yoga, we can help you walk your path, one step at a time. 

Where are you located? 

  • My studio is a home based private studio. Equippped with mats, blocks, blankets, straps, bolsters, chairs, and more. In a quiet neighborhood with easy parking on the street. No walk ins available and appointment based only. 

Do I need to bring a yoga mat?

  • If this is your first time or new to yoga or if you forgot your mat, we have extras that you are welcome to use. Don’t worry they are always sanitized with an organic spray cleaner. However, we suggest that you purchase your own. Just remember if you borrow them don’t place them back in the baskets. Lay them in the round basket  the prop station so they can be re-sanitized.  We also have a cubbie station if your a regular student and want to leave them at the studio. 

Do I need to bring blankets, straps, eye pillows, bolsters, sand bags, blocks, yoga balls, yoga golf props?

  • We have all the above. Again if you stick to your practice I would recommend you purchase your own eye pillow. I do have some here if your forget yours and again they are always sanitized. Remember if your use them, just drop them off in the in the special bin to be sanitized :-).

Do you have a place I can change before/after class?

  • Yes I have one restroom and another private screened area if needed. Give yourself time to prepare yourself before class. About 15 min. 

Do I need to bring water?

  • I have filtered water at a water station.

How early should I arrive for class?

  • If you are coming for your first time, please get here 10-15 minutes early to complete a registration form.  We recommend all of our students get here about 10 minutes early for class. Some classes are more crowded that others so this allows you plenty of time to sign in, get your yoga props, find a spot and settle in for class. 

Can I still practice yoga at Ageless Yoga if I am seriously injured?

  • For injuries we recommend that you consult with your doctor before beginning a yoga practice. We also recommend taking private yoga lessons prior to beginning group classes if you have a serious injury. If you have any concerns please let the teacher know before starting class. Call me if your unsure. 

What forms of payment do you accept?

  • We accept cash, checks, debit cards, Visa and MasterCard and American Express.

What is the registration policy for workshops?

  • Some of my workshops at Ageless Yoga are only workshop based. It will be noted on the class schedule page. Full payment is required at the time of registration. We encourage you to pre-register for the workshops since they may fill up. We also require a minimum number of registrants in order to justify holding the workshop. and for space. You can view and register for workshops online. 

What is the cancellation policy for workshops?

  • If you need to cancel please inform Ageless Yoga at least 48 hours before the workshop by phone, email, or in person. If you cancel within 48 hours you will get a credit on your account. If Ageless Yoga cancels the workshop you have the option of a refund or credit.

What is the cancellation policy for private sessions?

  • When you reserve a time for a private session, your teacher takes time and makes the effort to prepare for your session for your special needs. If you have to cancel, please do so within 24 hours of the session. Otherwise you will be charged in full for the session. Private sessions are pre-registration only.
