Private Yoga Sessions are specifically tailored to meet your individual needs. The idea of a yoga “class” is relatively new. Traditionally, yoga was taught one on one. This setting allows for your individuality to be addressed in the spirit of the one on one teacher-student tradition and quickly reach your goals.

There are many reasons why one may choose private instruction. Generally, the 4 most common goals of private sessions are:

To understand the basics of yoga - This type of session will equip you with the necessary tools to begin a consistent practice and inspire confidence to move forward into Our Small group settings. Most importantly, it will teach you to move safely within your body. The topics of pranayama (breath), asanas (postures), and meditation will be integrated.

To develop a home practice - It is important to supplement group yoga classes or private sessions with a practice you can do anytime on your own at home or while traveling. In this session you will be guided through effective sequences based on your goals. You will leave with homework to practice till your next session.

To address special needs - Some students have needs that cannot be met in a large group setting and need a more therapeutic focus. Some students have social anxiety and need a small intimate setting. Some of these needs may be based on body type, limited movement due to injury, stress management or a variety of other circumstances. Special needs students can work through several sessions to develop a plan or can work with Kitty indefinitely.

To deepen your practice - This is a way to make large strides in and refine your practice. A session will include feedback on technique and modifications to meet the specific student’s goals.

What to expect

Private Beginners yoga works best when you make a commitment to it. After our initial introductory session, I offer my services in packages of 10 or more and ask for a three-month commitment. By scheduling regular yoga sessions one to three times per week, we can go deeper into your interests and needs over time. I encouage Homework (Email of the poses) and text support when needed.

Session Class Description

Hatha yoga: a style of practice emphasizing the pairing of breath, alignment and movement stepped in mindfulness. Pacing and sequencing can be athletic or gentle depending on the client’s wishes, Or ability. props will be used.

Yin Yoga: Yin yoga Targets and penetrates deep into connective tissue expanding flexibility while invigorating the energy centers of the body (nadis) to release blockages and increase your energy flow. Focusing on static movement, breath work (Pranayama) and meditation to create a profoundly deep and rewarding practice. The primary differences between Yin Yoga and many other forms of yoga is that you are encouraged to NOT use your muscles and passive poses are held for several minutes. Props will be used.

Restorative Yoga: Poses Are Held For Up To Eight Minutes Supported Fully By The Props (provided by Kitty) To Promote Deep Rest And Relaxation To Calm The Nervous System And Drop Out Of The Stress Response.

Chair yoga/Gentle yoga: yoga practice taught from a chair or completely on the floor. Great for seniors, people with mobility issues, injuries, or Bigger Bodies and absolute beginners. Props will be used as in Chair, Staps, blocks and bolsters.

Meditation: learn the techniques of mindfulness meditation and guided on how to create a daily practice. Benefits of meditation include stress relief, improved focus, and concentration. Props will be used.
